TISCA The Independent Schools Christian Alliance

TISCA (The Independent Schools’ Christian Alliance) is active among Christians within the independent sector both in the UK and Overseas. We are also now work with some Academies.

Our aims are as follows:

1. SUPPORTING: to uphold Christians working in and supporting independent schools. We pray alongside Chaplains and Heads in particular, giving advice and support as requested. Conferences, fellowship meals and resourcing are some of the ways we seek to support. Some training events are aimed at Governors, Teachers and Senior Pupils.

2. INFLUENCING: to contribute to the formulation and practice of policy at all levels as it affects Christians in independent schools. We subscribe to the Evangelical Alliance statement of belief and work with the ACT (Association of Christian Teachers), EA’s Education Forum, the Christian Coalition for Education (CCfE), Christian Concern and the Centre for Chaplaincy in Education (CCE) and others. We are a member of the REC (Religious Education Council).

3.EQUIPPING: to advance the cause of Christ in school communities. We seek to share resources and network, as well as to pray and speak up as appropriate.

Historically TISCA has member schools (Foundation and Associate) but we also have individual members across many schools. Do join us!
