Jesuit Missions, International office for the Jesuits in Britain

We are the international mission and development office of the Jesuits in Britain, working to defend the dignity of poor and marginalised people around the world. For us, compassion is action.

In forgotten communities around the world, Jesuits are working with poor and marginalised people. We stand with them. This may be responding to emergency disasters, providing both immediate and long-term relief, working alongside those who are rejected from society due to disease or caste, supporting refugees and those living in areas affected by climate change or war.

We ensure vulnerable people have the skills and resources to build lives of dignity. We fight against injustice at local and government levels. We defend the environment and the sanctity of creation in following Pope Francis and his call to Care for Creation in his encyclical Laudato Si’.
